Black Sails Pacific Rim AU: Flint is a Jaeger pilot. Thomas was his partner, until he was ripped out and killed during an attack. Scarred and traumatised, Flint has retired from fighting, but when he is reluctantly pulled back in he meets Silver. Silver lost a leg during a Kaiju attack as a kid, and nobody thought a one-legged man would be strong enough to pilot a Jaeger, but he is determined to prove them all wrong. During combat training he finally gets his chance when he’s the only one who can beat Flint in a fight, and it’s instantly clear they share a connection. They’re drift compatible, and together they’re invincible.
